Me & Myself, an exotic mix of genres from Janaa

Me & Myself, Janaa’s second album, will be out on September 22 and it will cost R115.

According to Janaa the 13-track album, which is an exotic mix of reggae, ragga, R&B and sega music, will surely have something which will satisfy all music fans.

Bonn Aniverser (a song dedicated to her four-year-old daughter), Pardonn Mwan Manman (Composed and originally sung by Jean Ally), Premye lanmour, To Nite and De nou are some of the songs on the album.

De nou, a reggae track featuring popular singer Jahrimba, has been on the FM radio for sometime now.

The 24-year-old mother told Weekend Nation that she had been encouraged to come out with the new album due to public demand and also because of a song, entitled I’m leaving you, which she had written some time back. This song also features on the album.

Talking about her songs, Janaa said that To Nite carries a special message to all young Seychellois.

“I believe that God has created each one of us with a special talent. And our mission is to develop that talent to fulfill our dreams. And that is what we should be doing, instead of sitting back and getting jealous of others who have worked hard to achieve something in life,” she said.

Me & Myself was recorded at Maudiowave studio, La Misere and Darren Bonnelame is responsible for all musical arrangement.

The album, the cover design of which is the work of art of Telly’s Agency, also features other artists like Champion, Aubrey, Snoop and Colin Rath.

Janaa, whose debut album Culture Roots was released in 2002, has come up with new ideas to entertain her fans. In the morning of September 25 and October 2, she will be at Codevar to sell and autograph the CDs, which will be on sale at the reduced price of R100.

On the night of September 25 Me & Myself will also be on sale at the Grand Country and Western Show at the International Conference Centre (ICCS), a show in which Janaa will be among the artistes performing.
