Cycling: Fadi’s memorial tour |30 May 2018

 Ahmad Arissol wins season-opening tour


Ahmad Arissol is the grand winner of the Fadi’s memorial tour organised by the Seychelles Cycling Association during the weekend.

Held in remembrance of cyclist Fadi Confiance who passed away earlier this year, the tour kicked off the 2018 cycling season.

The first race was a 91km road race held on Saturday, while on Sunday, two races, namely a 12km individual time trial and a 79km circuit race,were on the programme.

In the first race, Arissol, who rides for Vélo Club de l’Ouest, clocked 2 hours 43 minutes 43 seconds (2h 43:43) to finish ahead of teammate Stephan Belle who was second in 2h46:44. Edrick Roucou of Angel Cycling Club was third in 2h46:50.

In the second race, Arissol took 18 minutes 19.79 seconds (18.19.79) to finish first in front of teammate Mario Ernesta who was second in 19:45.98. Stephan Belle was third in 20:20.35.

A fourth place was Arissol’s final ranking in the third and last race of the tour. He clocked 1h37.06.

The race was jointly won by Jayden Sinon and Yohan Monthy in 1h37.01, ahead of Stephan Belle who was third in 1h37.03.

With an accumulated time of 4h:39.08, Arissol was crowned champion of the tour, ahead of runner-up Belle who accumulated 4h:44.07.  Sinon was third overall with a time of 4h54.45.
