Seychelles team to attend UNWTO annual meeting |22 August 2013

The Minister for Tourism and Culture, Alain St Ange, and his delegation leave Seychelles today en route to the 20th UNWTO (United Nations World Tourism Organisation) general assembly which is this year taking place on the falls of Zambia and Zimbabwe.

The Seychelles minister is being accompanied by Sherin Naiken, chief executive of the island's tourism board (STB); Anne Lafortune, the principal secretary for Tourism; Elsia Grandcourt, the former chief executive of the STB; David Germain, the STB's director for Africa and the Americas,  and Jenifer Sinon, the STB's director of administration and HR.

This general assembly will also see the elections for the new executive council of the UNWTO. Seychelles, represented by Minister St Ange, has been nominated as a candidate for a seat on the 2013 executive council.

Minister St Ange said as he left Seychelles that he was intending to address the tourism ministerial roundtable meeting and the general assembly itself.
