Seychelles’ beauty queen attends Miss Reunion pageant |07 September 2013

Miss Seychelles … Another World 2013, Agnes Gerry, recently returned from Reunion Island where she attended this year’s annual Miss Reunion beauty pageant.

The pageant, won by Vanille M`doihoma, was held on Saturday August 17, 2013 in Saint-Denis where Ms Gerry was an invited guest.

She played the role of a tourism ambassador for her country whereby she promoted Seychelles through her natural beauty and friendly personality.

At the pageant, Ms Gerry was called on the stage where she replied to a series of questions by the famous French TV presenter, Jean-Pierre Foucault.

Ms Gerry thrilled her audience by replying in French and even in Creole at times with her Seychellois accent that really captured the audience, as the Creole spoken in Reunion differs from ours.

Upon her return last week, Ms Gerry said: “By attending the Miss Reunion beauty pageant, I have gained more confidence in preparing for my participation at Miss World 2013 which will be held in Bali, Indonesia on September 28.”

During her stay in Reunion, Ms Gerry shared her experience with the Miss Reunion 2013 contestants and also gained some tips from the reigning Miss France, Marine Lorphelin, this year’s Miss Rodrigues, Marie Manuela Cécile Speville and Miss Mayotte 2012, Stanisla Saïd.

It was also announced that Seychelles is the proud venue that has been chosen for the photo shoot session of the twelve contestants taking part in Miss Reunion 2014. This would surely be an added visibility to the country as a destination and surely during their stay here next year, the Reunionnais beauties will have the opportunity to discover the Seychelles Islands and who knows they too can be proud ambassadors of their island.
