Supreme Court to reopen Monday |13 September 2013

The Supreme Court will reopen on Monday September 16 with a mass at the St Paul’s Cathedral.

The church ceremony will start at 9am followed by a procession from the St Paul’s Cathedral to the Victoria Gymnasium via the State House Avenue. The procession will be accompanied by a brass band and headed by a Guard of honour.

The procession will continue with a motorcade from the Victoria Gymnasium car park along Independence Avenue and 5th June Avenue to reach the Palais de Justice at Ile du Port.

During the ceremony, Chief Justice Frederick Egonda-Ntende will inspect the Guard of honour made up of police officers.

As all judges and law personnel will be involved in the ceremony, the country’s Supreme and Magistrate courts will remain closed on the day.
