Vice-President Faure at UN general assembly |23 September 2013

Vice-President Danny Faure is representing the Head of State, President James Alix Michel, at the 68th regular session of the United Nations general assembly (UNGA 68) from September 24 to October 2, 2013, at the UN headquarters, New York City, USA.

The theme for the general assembly this year is ‘The Post – 2015 Development Agenda: Setting the Stage’. 

Deliberations are expected to focus on new and emerging challenges that need to be addressed in order to overcome extreme poverty and insecurity and ensure sustainable development globally.
 
The outcome will be a roadmap that will shape and advance the development agenda beyond 2015 which is the deadline set for the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals.
   
Vice-President Faure will head the Seychelles delegation which will include the Minister for Foreign Affairs Jean-Paul Adam; the Seychelles Permanent Representative to the UN, Ambassador Marie-Louise Potter, the Seychelles Ambassador for Climate Change and Small Island Developing States, Ronny Jumeau, and the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Barry Faure.
