IOT rewards employee and supervisor of the quarter |26 September 2013
Rewarding the employee and the supervisor of the quarter is a way for the Indian Ocean Tuna (IOT) management to show their appreciation towards their exemplary employees.
In a small ceremony at the IOT training room recently, the company rewarded the employee and the supervisor for the second quarter -- from April to June 2013.
The winners received a certificate along with a financial token from general manager Joram Madnack in the presence of the heads of departments and other management staff.
It was Marie-Noeline Octave who has been chosen as the supervisor of the second quarter. She is a fish cleaning supervisor and joined the IOT in 1998.
The employee of the second quarter award went to Tony Barbé who joined the company in 2010 and he is a transport dispatcher.
Addressing the winners, Mr Madnack said: “I convey my congratulations to you and I hope that all the employees will take you as examples.”
He added that “it is through devotion and motivation that you have reached where you are today and I hope that you continue on this path”.
The IOT took the opportunity to reward and thank three employees – Thérèse Kadasamy, Thérèse Jeanne and Marlene Rebuck – who are retiring.
Thérèse Kadasamy was a fish cleaner and has retired after serving 26 years in the profession. She joined the company in 1987.
Thérèse Jeanne joined the company in 2006 and was also a fish cleaner.
As for Marlene Rebuck, she joined the company in 1988 and served for 25 years. She was awarded the supervisor of the quarter in 2010.
All three received a certificate and a hamper as a sign of appreciation.
“Now that you have retired and I know it was not an easy decision for you to take, I thank you for your services and I wish you success in whatever you are planning to do,” said Mr Madnack as he conveyed his best wishes to the retirees.
