Free eye tests to commemorate world sight day |11 October 2013

Many visited the three Vision Care Seychelles shops here yesterday for free eye tests.

Vision Care did this promotion as a way to commemorate World Sight Day yesterday – October 10.

People could go to one among the three shops – Vision Care at Mont Fleuri, Vision Care City in Unity House and Sea Fashion Eye wear at Eden Plaza – to have their eyes screened for glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, cataract and other eye conditions.

Speaking to Seychelles Nation Sven Mahlhorn, an optician at Vision Care, said: “We are very satisfied with the turnout and here at Vision Care Riverside we’ve received 120 patients for the day.”
He also added that they have not discovered any major problem with those who came.

However, there are those with vision impairment needing thorough tests and they have been given appointments for another day. They will only pay R50 instead of the usual R150 in line with the promotion.

As per their day-to-day task, if opticians of Vision Care find any abnormalities in their patients they refer them to the eye clinic of the Ministry of Health.
