NSC gets new wheels |17 July 2004

The official handing over ceremony of the two vehicles took place Friday July 16 (afternoon)  at the Astro-turf pitch, Roche Caïman.

It was Suketu Patel, president of the local football governing body, who had the pleasure of handing over the vehicles' keys to NSC managing director Eric Arnephy in the presence of Patrick Nanty, principal secretary for Sports and Culture, as well as other high sports officials.

In a brief address, Mr Patel said that the donation portrays the good cooperation and working relationship that exist between the SFF, the NSC and the Seychelles Government.
"The donation portrays the good cooperation that already exists between us. I am sure that the buses will be extremely useful towards the development of youths and sports in Seychelles," he said.

He added that the government had in the past contributed a lot towards the development of football here and that the donation was a good way to give back to the community and to "say thank you."

As for Mr Arnephy, he thanked and congratulated the SFF for the contribution which he  described as "a much-needed commodity".

"I am certain that the buses will be of great importance to the NSC and the youths of Seychelles. I am also happy to see the emergence of a partnership between different federations/associations and the NSC to work on a number of projects in our country," he said.

The buses will be used by the NSC to run its youth development programme. Young athletes, training with different age group selections, will be transported to training venues and back to their districts.
