Big up for Ambitious with Woman Mi Flavour

Ambitious

Following his international success with two songs – Since You Came In My Life and Calling Jah – Seychellois artiste Ambitious will join the foursome of Bennie Man, Everton Blenda, Capleton and Louie Culture as well as many more reggae artists on the compilation Stage Show Rhythm.

Ambitious’ contribution on the Stage Show Rhythm compilation is Woman Mi Flavour and the song has been recorded at Relations Studio, La Misère.

This is the first time a Seychellois artiste will appear on the same album as Jamaican reggae stars and Ambitious (Barry Barra) is just glad to get the opportunity to feature on the same album as popular reggae artistes.

“As you know, I sing about real life experiences and through Woman Mi Flavour, I’m sending out a strong message to those who are not observing the rules of righteousness. Jah blessed as he has given me the ability to express myself through my songs and I thank him for giving me the chance to record with big name reggae artistes worldwide,” Ambitious told Weekend Nation.

It is not clear when the compilation is expected to go on sale and what price Seychellois fans will have to pay for a copy.

If Woman Mi Flavour is a success, it will be a breakthrough on the world stage for Ambitious who is to leave for Canada in November to record his second album at the Explorer mixing lab.

Ambitious’ first album - Calling Jah – released earlier this year, has been a hit locally and has been ranked high among the best sellers.  It also featured on the chart in Canada, reaching number three on the Top Ten International Albums chart for the months of June and July.

With a deejay’s knowledge, Ambitious has produced nothing but hits and has proved his ability by creating numerous dancehall classics with messages of peace and love which will surely go down well with the present and future generations.

Performing dancehall reggae songs, the most widely spoken dialect within the music industry, Ambitious’ message is in his music and he does his best to bring forth tunes making us aware of who we are.

In his next album, Ambitious’ fans should expect more hits with words of wisdom coming from him.

Meanwhile, Ambitious will be performing on La Digue at the island’s community centre on Saturday October 2. The show will start at 8 p.m. and will also feature local artiste Dreaddy.

His album Calling Jah will be on sale at a reduced price of R100 for one week as from today at all outlets.
