Death of India’s former PM-President Michel sends message of condolence |28 December 2004

President Michel’s message reads:

“It was with profound sadness that we have learnt of the passing away of former Prime Minister P.V. Narasimha Rao.
“Former Prime Minister Rao was a man of principles and integrity and a gallant leader in the cause for freedom, peace and democracy. We shall miss him.

“The Government and people of Seychelles join me in expressing our most sincere condolences to you, the Government and people of the Republic of India, as well as to the family of former Prime Minister Rao.

“We wish to assure you, Mr President, of our solidarity in this moment of national grief.”
