Aftermath of earthquake off Indonesia-Bible society sends words of comfort to those afflicted |29 December 2004

The society says: "As we fervently thank God for His protection and deliverance, we humbly claim His promises :
When you pass through deep waters,
I am with you,
When you pass through rivers,
They will not sweep you away…
For I am the Lord your God,
The Holy One of Israel, your deliverer… Isaiah 43

God is our shelter and our refuge
A timely help in trouble
So we are not afraid when the earth heaves
And the mountains are hurled into the sea
When its waters seethe in tumult…
The Lord of Hosts is with us
The God of Jacob our high stronghold.  Psalms 46
