Newly launched body focuses relief efforts locally |31 December 2004

The executive committee of the newly launched Seychelles Love in Action Mission (Slam), formerly known as Outreach Seychelles, has appealed to international partners for help after a visit to various homes in South Africa on Tuesday by chairperson Sam Moses and International Liason Officer Rose-Anne Fournier.

The organisation is also calling on the Seychellois people to demonstrate their generosity as they have so often done when some of our neighbours were in need. “Everyone is invited to join efforts to assist local families who have lost so much by making a financial donation to Slam or by donating new electrical appliances and furniture items to replace those which have been destroyed,” a communiqué from the organisation says.

Financial donations can be delivered to St. Paul's Cathedral office as soon as possible. Cheques must be made out to Seychelles Love in Action Mission.

Those wishing to give furniture, appliances or other goods, can contact Rose-Anne Fournier on 520291, Mr Sam Moses on 711318 or Fr. Danny Elizabeth on 322508.
