Senior citizen's exchange programme-Praslin elderly visit Mahe |05 May 2005
The group, made up of 25 participants, undertook a number of visits around the island which included visit to homes for the elderly, the Providence Industrial Estate and district administrations. They also met with some of their counterparts on Mahe.
According to programme officer Doyace Porrice, the Senior Citizen Association considered the trip to Mahe following a request from senior citizens on Praslin.
The group, who stayed at Stad Linité, arrived on Mahe on Friday morning and left for Praslin on Sunday afternoon.
Mrs Porrice also noted that from April 14 to 21, about 360 senior citizens on Mahe got the opportunity to visit various institutions like the Police Academy at Pointe Larue.
She said that the visits allow senior citizens to get to know their environment where they live and learn about the roles of different institutions.
