Red Cross to sell kits and recruit new members tomorrow |06 May 2005

The two activities, which will be coupled with the sale of flags, have been organised to mark World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day, which will this year be observed on Saturday here.

“The kits contain basic first aid equipment and will be available at R375 and R525,” the organisation’s dissemination and information officer Marie-May Bastienne said, adding that 40 volunteers will be involved in the planned activities, which will include the collection of donations from members of the public.

She said Red Cross has adopted the theme, “Protecting human dignity,” which the members will use this year and through 2006.
