Athletics-No record in Athletics Cup

Marie clocked 48.0 seconds in the 400m

The different category winners were Alex Confait (colt boy), Natifa Larue (girl), Sheraz Kotecha (boy), Sabrina Laurence (female youth), Hazeron Etienne (male youth), Ellen Roselie (female youth), Marcus Labrosse (male junior), Louisianne Françoise (female senior) and Evans Marie (male senior).

The athletes participated in as many events they wanted, but only their best two performances were considered for the final standings. The results earned the athletes points on the 2005 International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) scoring tables.

Confait competed in just one event and he scored 24 points with a time of 15.5 seconds in the 100 metres won by Mervin Loizeau in 10.9 seconds.

With times of 12.9 seconds in the 100m and 26.7 seconds in the 200m, Natifa Larue collected 1,724 points to win the girl (U16) category.  Sheraz Kotecha of Pointe Larue won the boy division with 673 points after clocking 26.9 seconds in the 200m and 13.2 seconds in the 100m.

Sabrina Laurence dominated the sprints with times of 12.6 seconds and 26.2 seconds in the 100m and 200m for 1,809 points in the female youth (U18) category.

The male youth division winner was Hazeron Etienne with 1,556 points after registering a distance of 6.14m in the long jump and clearing the bar at 1.95m in the high jump.

Unchallenged in the female junior (U20) division, Ellen Roselie had no trouble winning with 5.21m in the long and 13.6 seconds in the 100m for 1,564 points.

Marcus Labrosse registered a distance of 5.69m in the long jump and a time of 11.3 seconds in the 100m for 1,385 points to win the male junior category.

Louisianne Françoise was not troubled by her challengers which included Lindy Leveau-Agricole and Anna Barra as she won the female senior category with 1,653 points. She landed at 10.33m in the triple jump and hit the tape of the 100m in 12.4 seconds.

One-lap specialist Evans Marie clocked exactly 48 seconds in the 400m and 22.1 seconds in the 200m for 1,891 points, the highest score registered by any athlete last weekend, to win the male senior category ahead of jumps specialist Jude Sidonie (1,802 points) and strongman Selwyn Beauchamp (1,441 points).
