SCAA refutes Seychelles Weekly article |10 May 2005

"The Seychelles Civil Aviation Authority undertakes to declare the contents of the article to be incorrect in respect to alleged funding through its assigned loan facility and further states that activation of the loan provisions are yet to be undertaken," a communique from the authority says.

"The Agreement between SCAA and Barclays Bank South Africa is fully subscribed as to its purpose of facility, with no inclusion of alleged purchase of firearms as mentioned in the article," says the communique.

"SCAA confirms the loan facility is for the provisions of fire fighting equipment, vehicles and other rescue equipment, inclusive of training of personnel," adds the communique.
