R9,607 for Beauchamp from his friends |11 May 2005

On Monday afternoon (May 9) at the North East Point hospital in the presence of former triple jumper Paul Nioze, Joseph Volcy, a member of the Seychelles Amateur Athletics Federation (SAAF), presented Beauchamp with a cheque worth R9,607.

Volcy told Beauchamp that the local athletics body will make another presentation once it receives all contributions from the sponsored walk.

A two-time Indian Ocean Islands Games (IOIG) gold medalist in Seychelles in 1993 and in Reunion in 1998, Beauchamp thanked all those who contributed generously.

It is to be remembered that Beauchamp received R7,270 from the Seychelles Basketball Federation (SBF) last month.

The sum was raised from the sale of tickets for three Charity matches organised by the SBF at the start of the season.
