Football: Central League knockout competition-Mont Fleuri eager to know Land Marine Cup opponents |12 May 2005

Coached by Damien Jean, Mont Fleuri, formed earlier this year, started their campaign in the Central League knockout competition with a 2-0 win over Seychelles Police in the quarterfinals.
Seychelles Police had edged Machabée 1-0 in the earlier round.

The Mont Fleurians, whose aim is to win this year’s Central League to gain promotion to division three next year, went on to beat Quincy 3-1 in the semifinals to set up a final match-up with Glacis who had walked over Easterners and defeated Islanders 3-1 in the other semifinal encounter.

Mont Fleuri dominated last Friday’s final at Stad Linite on a 4-2 score to lift the Central League knockout trophy.

With the victory, Mont Fleuri have been included for the next round draw of the Land Marine Cup draw which will only take place after the winners of the ongoing Inner islands knockout competition are known.
