Pointe Larue Falcons get new Reebok shoes

Mr Gabriel and Mrs Church during the presentation ceremony

Earlier this week, the team received a big boost in the form of a donation of 26 pairs of Reebok shoes worth US$4,000 (around R22,000 including freight) from Harold Green, the honorary consul of Seychelles in Alaska.

Team manager Nichol Gabriel accepted the donation from Lise Church, the honorary consul of Seychelles in Seattle, USA, who deputised for Mr Green who could not travel to Seychelles due to unforeseen circumstances.

Present were the team’s committee members and players.

Mr Gabriel praised the players for “their decision to re-organise the team after a two-year break and thanked them for their sense of discipline and for their effort in developing the sport in the district of Pointe Larue which boasts a huge potential of sporting talents.”

The donation, Mr Gabriel, added, was not the first and would definitely not be the last from Mr Green.

Future donations would come if the team show determination and hard work during the course of the season and win promotion to the Men division 1B league next year.
