Man gets 18 months for house breaking and theft |20 May 2005

Lepere, 19, received the sentence in court on Thursday morning.

According to the police Lepere broke into a house at Hermitage on Tuesday May 17 and stole a television set.

He was arrested later that same afternoon and was charged for the offences of house breaking and stealing from a dwelling house.

Appearing before court Lepere pleaded guilty to both offences and was sentenced to 18 months on each count.

However, the fact that his sentences will run concurrently, Lepere will serve a jail term of only 18 months.

The stolen television set has been recovered by the police.
