Football: Airtel Cup-Sunshine hammer Survivors |20 May 2005

Defender Don Laramé gave Sunshine the lead from the penalty spot in the 12th minute before Georges Ravinia (37th minute) and Eric Bertin (39th minute) brought the score to 3-0 at half-time.

Sunshine scored two more goals inside two minutes – 49th and 50th – through strikers Ronny Rose and Robert Suzette.

Habib Boavogy reduced the deficit to four goals with a 51st minute goal and it proved to be Survivors’ consolation goal.

International midfielder Denis Barbé capped his return to action after an injury lay-off with two goals in the 70th and 90th minutes.

Sunshine have now completed their eight league matches with four points, while Survivors, who have now conceded seven goals in each of their last three matches, will play their last match against Anse Réunion on Saturday on La Digue.

Meanwhile, the Seychelles Football Federation has announced that the kick-off time of Saturday’s match between St Louis and St Michel has been moved earlier to 4 p.m.

This, it said, will allow players and supporters to get home in time to watch the Football Association (FA) Cup final between Arsenal and Manchester United on SBC TV.
