Air Seychelles winners collect tickets

Winners of the Air Seychelles Johannesburg Quiz contest and Seychelles Plus promotion. Mr Matatiken is third from right

The winners came out on top of an open-to-everyone quiz contest and a frequent flyer Seychelles Plus promotion both run by the national carrier.

The Johannesburg Quiz competition, in which participants had to answer a series of questions, was published in Seychelles Nation in April. The three winners were picked out from some 700 entries which had been entered in the draw.

The first prize of two return tickets to Johannesburg including excursion with Ashlaw Tours of South Africa has been won by Victor Matatiken of Reef Estate, Au Cap. Mr Balashanmugan Rajagopal of Victoria won the second prize of one return ticket to Johannesburg and a 50% discount ticket for his travelling partner. The third prize of two return tickets to Praslin has been won by Vanessa Rose of Hangard Street.

A delighted Mr Matatiken, who was making his second win this week after winning a  prize in the Aerobingo draw, said he was  looking forward to a real holiday in Johannesburg, after having visited Cape Town twice in 1999 and 2000.

As for the Seychelles Plus promotion which was initiated in February, it was opened to the airline's 9,000 Frequent Flyer members and all they had to do was to fill in a form updating their contact details. The completed forms were then entered in a draw.

The names of four winners were drawn, each one winning a return ticket for a trip to Praslin. The winners are Gerard Bacharie of Bel Ombre, Janita Labrosse of Les Mamelles, Ricky Jean of La Digue and Therese Mathiot of St Louis. They received their tickets from Lisa Laporte, the manager of Seychelles Market, during a brief presentation ceremony held at the company's boardroom on Quincy Street.

Ms Laporte said the Seychelles Plus promotion forms part of the company's move to adopt an e-marketing strategy to encourage communication via emails.
