Cycling-Fanny gets 125-km win, Van Hollebeke sprints to ITT victory |23 May 2005

Winner of the 71-km circuit race, PLS Riders’ Fanny touched the finish tape of Saturday’s marathon race in 3 hours 17 minutes 04 seconds (3h17:04), one second ahead of Ricky Rosalie (St Francis), Bertrand Lesperance, Nelson Rose (Vélo Club de Mahé), Jean-Pierre Low-Hong (St Francis) and Francis Louis (PLS Riders) who all clocked 3h17:05
“We followed the racing strategy and won,” 28-year-old Fanny told Sports Nation.

FANNY .... 125-km road race winner

Low-Hong took the best junior title, while France Anacoura, 16, brought his number of wins to five in as many races in the cadet division, winning the 40-km race in 1h06:20.

Jemmy Labrosse was second in 1h06:24 and Ury Biscornet third with 1h06:27.

Sunday May 22 (morning), the cyclists were on their bikes again in the 17.1-km individual time-trial sponsored by the Seychelles Cycling Association.

Van Hollebeke, 46, clocked the fastest time of 24 minutes 49.03 seconds (24:49.04).
“I’m satisfied with first place. You know, I’m can be Hudson Mathieu’s father. He is half my junior and I rule the sprints in his absence,” said Van Hollebeke to Sports Nation.

VAN HOLLEBEKE ... 17.1-km individual time-trial winner

Vélo Club de Mahé’s Leeroy Labiche was second in 24:57.72 and he also took the first prize for the juniors.
Ricky Rosalie of St Francis settled for third position with a time of 25:01.24.
