Distributor offers better access to Sony products

By visiting Sound & Vision's showroom, clients can have access to top quality Sony products

Speaking to Business Nation, Mr Shirish Dhanjee, the director of the company said they have served the Seychelles market for well over a decade and their priority has always been to sell quality products at the right price.

Mr Dhanjee has welcomed measures and incentives introduced to open up the market, such as the abolition of import permits for the majority of items and the more flexible foreign exchange regulations targeting both earners and the public in general which he said were allowing for more businesses to open accounts in foreign exchange.

The company is targeting tourism establishments such as hotels and guest houses which have been given incentives to upgrade their services, audio visual centres and companies involved in audio and video productions. The company has plans to tap in the various new tourism projects under development and other establishments being renovated.

In additon to that, Mr Dhanjee said ordinary customers can also access top quality Sony products and have for instance a Sony 14 inches flat screen television for around R1,600, if they pay in foreign exchange a sum of US$175 for the CIF (Cost Freight and Insurance) components for the import of the item.

Clients can choose items either from the catalogue at its showroom or from the website  and once they have done that, Sound and Vision can provide them with a quotation.

"Our aim is to deliver as soon a as possible, within a maximum period of two months depending on items being imported"  Mr Dhanjee said.

Pointing out that Sony is synonymous to quality, Mr Dhanjee said as the distributor of this brand his company has a challenging task of ensuring customer satisfaction at all times.

Among the long list of products that can be purchased from the catalogue are LCD and Plasma TV, digital video and still cameras, Hi-Fi systems, mini disc, CD walkman, car audio, play station, computer monitors, data protectors and video conferencing systems, along with their accessories.

Mr Dhanjee is confident that with this new way of doing business, Sound and Vision will be in a better position to market more Sony products and capture a larger market share.

The company also offers additional services, such as transfer of VHS and mini DV cassettes to DVD or VCD and recommends that people who have recorded those precious moments to do the transfer before their tapes get spoiled. Sound and Vision also offers duplication services for DVD, VCD and audio CD.
The company's showroom is based in the Sound and Vision House on Francis Rachel Street in Victoria. It is open from 8.30 a.m to 4.00 p.m on week days and from 8.30 a.m to 12 noon on Saturdays.
