Mancham to join in preparatory work to set up world peace council |31 May 2005
In a communiqué from his Glacis-sur-Mer office, Mr Mancham explains that the world-level Peace Council is anticipated to be an assembly of representatives from government, religion and civil society who will gather to deliberate on matters related to the world’s critical global problems and develop plans of action consistent with the founding principles of the IIPC and the resources available to the Council.
It is to be noted that Mr Mancham, whose participation in the Addis Ababa meeting is at the invitation of the Interreligious and International Federation for World Peace (IIFWP), attended the launching of the IIPC by the IIFWP in New York City, in October 2003. The idea behind the IIPC launch was to establish a model of good governance which would embody the principles, methodology and practice of the Federation.
