Local business donates to Pointe Larue elderly |20 October 2006
The items, that will be used by the Home’s residents, comprised a wheelchair, walking frames, towels as well as crutches.
For good measure, the company also presented the home with a batch of lottery tickets that will be drawn soon.
The items were handed over by the printing company’s director, Anoop Vidyarthi, to Gilberte Adela, who is in charge of the Home.
The ceremony took place in the presence of members of the Home’s board of trustees, a representative of Air Seychelles and the residents.
Accepting the donation from Mr Vidyarthi, Ms Adela thanked both the company for its generous gesture and Air Seychelles for allowing the company to retrieve the items duty-free from the cargo terminal.
Mr Vidyarthi expressed satisfaction at being able to help the Home and said he would continue to “assist and be useful in the community”.
His company has also in the past donated to other charitable organizations such as St. Elizabeth and Foyer de Nazareth.
As a token of gratitude and appreciation, one of the residents of the Home presented Mr Vidyarthi with a hamper of fresh fruit and vegetables.
