Volleyball: National League-BSA Sisters retain top spot, Police disqualified |10 July 2007

After registering double victories in their matches played over the weekend, BSA Sisters have garnered 30 points after ten encounters.

In their first match on Saturday, they came from a set behind to defeat Roots Sisters 3-1(29-31, 25-15, 25-13, 25-16) whilst in their second encounter on Sunday they whitewashed Mont Fleuri 3-0 (25-14, 25-19, 25-17).

Second placed Roots Sisters are on 26 points after ten matches. On Sunday they recovered from their previous day’s defeat to beat Santa West 3-0 (25-23, 25-19, 29-27).
RC United are third with 24 points from 10 matches. On Saturday they defeated Bel Ombre Squada 3-0 (25-18, 25-23, 25-21).

Sixth placed Juniors registered a win and a loss during their weekend matches. On Saturday, they lost 3-2 against Mont Fleuri. The set scores were 23-25, 25-19, 25-20, 24-25 and 15-5. In their other match on Sunday, they defeated Beau Vallon Sisters 3-1 (19-25, 25-15, 25-14, 25-16). They now have 22 points after ten matches.

With 12 points from 10 matches, Beau Vallon Sisters are occupying the eighth spot on the league table. In their other match during the weekend they walked over Police.

In line with the Seychelles Volleyball Federation (SVF) policy which states that any team failing to turn up for matches on three occasions will be automatically suspended from the championship, Police will no longer contest in the women’s division two championship.
