Air Seychelles and St Anne Resort donate to STA |25 April 2009

At the La Misere academy recently, Air Seychelles’ catering and logistics manager Melanie Berry presented principal Flavien Joubert with over 3,000 pieces of crockery and cutlery, plastic trays for serving breakfast and several books on Seychelles.

And on behalf of St Anne Resort and Spa, training and recruitment manager Deepak Balgobin handed over 30 monitors, manicure and pedicure equipment, a reclining chair and some housekeeping trolleys.

Air Seychelles’ manager for public relations and communications Glenn Pillay said the airline is very proud to be a keen supporter of the tourism and travel trade, especially the STA.

He said the airline has just replaced all the cutlery on its planes, and the decision was taken to make this donation to the academy.

Mr Pillay added that as the national airline, Air Seychelles believes in giving back to the community. Through buying tickets and travelling, the community supports the airline, which returns the favour when it can.

Mr Balgobin promised further help to the STA from his hotel, notably in the field of spa treatment. St Anne Resort and Spa will hand over some of its equipment to benefit the academy’s wellness and spa students, he said.

During the ceremony, the STA presented to the media its first group of wellness and spa students, along with their lecturer Fadette Luc, who was trained by the Constance Academy in Mauritius.
