Reusable bags to be shared with students

A thousand bags were handed over last week to principal secretary for education Jeanne Simeon by principal secretary for environment Didier Dogley.

The idea of using this type of bag forms part of the programme to minimise the amount of waste in the country and recycle it whenever possible.

Mr Dogley said his department is making donations to different partners, especially institutions and organisations that have, over the years, supported its educational programmes to reduce waste.

For this reason they decided to make this first donation to the Ministry of Education.

Mr Dogley hands over a sample of the bags to Mrs Simeon

Attending the short ceremony at the education headquarters were representatives of both ministries.

Mrs Simeon thanked Mr Dogley and his ministry for the reusable bags, which she said will be very useful to the students.

She said the donation will help to bring awareness of a waste-free Seychelles, which is the logo on the bags.

The bags are also available at the Seychelles Trading Company supermarket at R10 each.
