President congratulates India’s Congress Party on victory |20 May 2009

The message, transmitted via the Indian High Commission in Seychelles, said:
“On the occasion of the historic victory of the Congress Party and its allies in the recently concluded general election, I wish to convey to you and the leadership of the party our warmest and most sincere congratulations.

“Our two countries have, over the years, maintained a very vibrant and dynamic relationship, and it is my firm belief that based on our common shared history, values and mutual understanding, the future will bear witness to even greater ties of friendship and solidarity between us.

“We deeply appreciate all forms of help being given by India to Seychelles, especially now in the context of the fight against piracy and assistance on maritime surveillance of our exclusive economic zone.”
