Seychelles Regatta-CPR wins, Desjoyeaux’s Nicolas Feuillatte stays first

Sailing Nicolas Feuillatte, Desjoyeaux finished second in yesterday’s fourth leg won by the CPR boat, with Englishwoman Samantha Davies as skipper.

Twice Vendée Globe winner Desjoyeaux and his crew have kept up an extraordinary pace, despite their first loss in four races, to bring their points tally to five.

With yesterday’s victory despite five hours of sailing in light winds, the CPR boat, which was fourth overall after the first three races, has climbed into second position with 14 points.

With 16 points after finishing seventh yesterday, the Keneos Aubriet boat (skipper Romain Attanasio) has dropped to third place, while Lady Anya (skipper Dee Caffari) is now in fourth position with 17 points. It was ranked fifth yesterday.

Third place in yesterday’s race went to the Chagneau boat, which now lies overall fifth.

The other four positions in the overall standings are held by Rome Team (22 points), C-Team (27 points), Air Seychelles (31 points) and Tera Cognita (32 points).

Yesterday’s fourth race started at 9am and the sailors ‘fished under sail’ for more than seven hours to reach the beautiful Anse Lazio beach on Praslin. After that, the sailors went snorkelling and dined on their catch of the day.

There will be two races today. The first will start at 9am and the second at 3pm. The sailors will then anchor in Baie Ste Anne, Praslin.

Two more races are on tomorrow’s programme, while the nine boats will compete in one race on Friday and Saturday.
The award ceremony is set for Saturday at Eden Island.
