New ambulance command centre to open |13 June 2009

Members of the public asking for an ambulance, day or night, should call telephone number 151. This number will be manned on a 24-hour basis, the Health Services Agency said.

The command centre operators will be helped by emergency doctors and nurses should there be a need for medical advice to be given to a caller.

With the introduction of the new centre, the agency aims to provide a more efficient ambulance service.
