Newspaper’s report ‘malicious and unfounded’ |24 June 2009

The council, which is responsible for approving government scholarships for overseas education, said in a statement yesterday that the newspaper’s report in its issue of June 12 is false.

The person in question does not benefit from a government scholarship but is financing her studies herself, it added.
The council also called for responsible journalism to avoid unnecessary harm caused by malicious and unfounded reports such as this one.
