He also discussed with President Michel new measures that should be taken to deal with the ongoing pirate attacks in international waters, which are affecting both countries economically.

Also during his accreditation visit yesterday, the new ambassador paid a courtesy call on Vice-President Joseph Belmont.

Today he will meet the National Assembly speaker Dr Patrick Herminie and other government officials.

Mr Bowoleksono, who will be based in Nairobi, Kenya, is the seventh Indonesian ambassador to Seychelles since the two countries set up diplomatic relations in December 1985.

He replaces Djismun Kasri, who served in the office from 2004 to 2007.
