This week in the National Assembly |30 November 2010

One of the amendments the Bill proposes is to transfer the responsibilities of the director of veterinary services to the chief executive of the Seychelles Bureau of Standards.

The Bill will also allow a fish inspection and quality control unit to be set up with a mandate to ensure compliance with the standards of quality required, particularly in international trade.

Minister for Health Erna Athanasius will also be in the assembly for Question Time to answer eight questions.

Members will then consider two motions, the first to be moved by leader of government business Marie-Louise Potter and calling for the assembly to ratify the African Youth Charter.

David Pierre, proportionately elected SNP member, will table the second motion, which asks the government to restructure the Public Utilities Corporation so as to maximise its resources and make it more effective.
