Foreign Affairs comes closer to north Mahe residents

Saturday’s meeting in progress

The meeting formed part of an initiative the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has embarked on to give the Seychellois public a greater understanding of the work it does.

The aim was also to give residents the chance to raise issues of importance to them, ask questions and discuss Seychelles’ foreign policy objectives.

Some of the key issues that were raised include the repatriation of prohibited immigrants and convicted pirates, the role and contribution of honorary consuls, and Seychelles’ continuing policy of non-alignment.

Mr Adam was accompanied by the ministry’s technical advisers, director-generals and other support staff.
Also present were Bel Ombre National Assembly member Nicholas Prea, and the district administrators for Bel Ombre, Pharisianne Lucas, and for Glacis, Gilbert Marie.

This was the third of five planned meetings, and details of the fourth will be announced shortly.
