First Lady in talks on children’s wellbeing

This was the latest in a series of consultative visits by Mrs Michel – who is also chairperson of the Children’s Home Foundation (CHF) – to key partners working with children.

She was met at the Children’s Ark, Bel Eau, by Macsuzy Mondon – the NCC’s chairperson and also Minister for Education, Employment and Human Resources – as well as Minister for Social Development and Culture Bernard Shamlaye and NCC director Ruby Pardiwalla.

Others in the team were principal secretary for social development Linda William and CHF chief executive Noella Gontier.

The NCC’s role in child protection and advocacy, and the role of the CHF in supporting children in homes across the country and others needing special attention, have strong complementary links.

After the visit, Mrs Michel and her team met Ms Pardiwalla in the NCC’s conference room to discuss issues of mutual interest.
