Football-New Au Cap team receive equipment

Mr Morin (right) and Ms Marie present samples of the equipment to two Au Cap players

Coached by former Malagasy international Robert Edmond, who played for the defunct Red Star and St Francis, the Au Cap team got brand new boots, uniforms, socks and footballs from the Morin Group and Allen Ernestine of Rapid Roofing on Monday afternoon.

The handover ceremony took place at the Au Cap playing field in the presence of district administrator Murielle Marie and team manager Nichol Dogley.

Morin Group managing director Paul Morin presented a sample of the boots to a young player, while district administrator Marie handed over the uniforms on behalf of Mr Ernestine.

Coach Edmond will also be on the team to help the young players cope with life in the third division and he will be helped by three former Red Star players – midfielder Steve Mathiot, goalkeeper Patrick Asba and defender Dave Fred, who has come out of retirement.
