Darts: National league-Premium Throws ‘A’ dethrone Hard Target |01 June 2011

They have replaced last year’s winners Hard Target. A total six teams battled in the first of four tournaments that feature on the darts calendar, while the players contested for individual titles.

With 28 points, Premium Throws A, comprising Mike Rachel, Jack Micock, Patrick Radegonde, Jean Andrade and James Morel, surpassed the other teams to top the league with nine wins and a draw out of 10 matches played. They finished with 106 points for and conceded 54.

Relegated to the runners-up position this time, Hard Target have ended the campaign on 19 points with six wins, three draws and a loss. They registered 94 points for and 66 against.

Barclays Ami Dart finished third with 14 points from four wins, four draws and two losses. They scored 84 points and conceded 76.

Four wins, five losses and a draw placed Direct Arrows in fourth place overall. They registered 76 points and conceded 84 to finish ahead of Premium Throws ‘B’, who accumulated seven points from two wins, seven losses and a draw. Their overall score was 60 for and 100 against.

Straight Arrows finished sixth overall with six points from two wins and eight losses. They registered 60 points for and 100 against.

In the individual ranking, Paul Vidot of the Premium Throws ‘B’ team was the league’s top scorer with 12 points after winning 28 games.

Last year’s winner, Barclays Ami Dart’s Bernard Berlouis shared second position with three other contestants – Keven Furneau of Straight Arrows, Nichol Esparon and Ranga Chetty of Hard Target – on 10 points after winning 25 games each.

Reuben Port-Louis of Direct Arrows and Mike Rachel of Premium Throws ‘A’ finished joint-third with nine points after they each won 24 games.

Darel Siméon of Straight Arrows, Jack Micock and Patrick Radegonde of Premium Throws ‘A’ finished fourth with eight points after they won 23 games apiece. Hard Target’s Colin Esparon was fifth with seven points from 22 games won.
