Artists to explore ‘different themes’ in joint exhibition |03 September 2011

The exhibition, which is being organised in collaboration with the National Arts Council, will open on September 9, 2011 at 5pm by the council’s chief executive Benjamine Rose.

In an interview with Seychelles Nation, Mr Sopha said all the paintings are different and are based on a variety of themes such as traditional houses, the sea and global issues, among others.

It is for this reason that the two artists have chosen the theme Tenm Diferan (‘Different Themes’) for their exhibition.

A total of 27 paintings will be on display during three weeks and those who come to view the exhibition will also have the chance to meet the artists.

The price of the paintings range from R2,500 to R28,000 depending on the size and theme.

Mr Sopha said the themes he uses are mostly based on global issues which also relate to Seychelles and those include natural disasters, peace and certain paintings are based on religious aspects.

“But now I have seen that I can interpret and explore other themes in my own style,” he said.
People interested in the artists’ paintings or any artistic projects can contact them on 2563783 (Danny Sopha) and 2767798 (Alain Samson).
