Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star show-Young talents wow audience

Organised by the Children’s Home Foundation, the popular children’s show was held last Saturday and Sunday at the International Conference Centre.

First Lady Natalie Michel, who is also the chairperson of the foundation, was present as well as the foundation’s chief executive Noella Gontier.

All the 15 little stars -- aged between 5 and 9 -- captivated the audience with their confidence and choice of songs. They interpreted songs written and sang by both local and international artists, such as The Eagles’ ‘Hotel California’, Aret fer fizi zouzou pour nou zanfan by Patrick Victor, and Kot-a-kot  by Benting.

There were also performances by Telsy, Chicco and Daniella, while the Emergency Crew spiced up the show with its hip hop dances.

Young Praslinois Stephan Fred also took to the stage to show his remarkable acrobatic moves, while the father and daughter duo of Gustave DeCommarmond and Shamira performed Jim Reeves’ old favourite ‘But you love me daddy’.

Le Rosignol choir also entertained the audience with several songs dedicated to children.

But this show would not have been much fun without the wits and funny comments of the Twinkle, Twinkle Little star show director Bennet Accouche and presenter Jules Hoareau.

Mr Accouche, who is also the Children’s Home Foundation’s artistic director, was the one who made the audition and also rehearsed the young talents.

After their performances, which were held on a stage decorated with colourful jungle animals, the children received gifts.
Mrs Michel also presented them with certificates and medals.

Then all children present at the show were invited to come on stage and dance to the rhythm of ‘I like to move it, move it’ – the theme song of the popular children’s movie Madagascar.

Proceeds of the Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star show will go towards the Seychelles Hospital’s children’s ward project.

Accompanying the article are photos of the 15 little stars in action, and a souvenir one with Mrs Michel and the organisers.
