Seychelles treats arriving visitors to special welcome on World Tourism Day

Visitors arriving in Seychelles are greeted to the Creole sounds on WTD 2011

This was part of activities to celebrate the United Nations World Tourism Organisation’s  World Tourism Day (WTD) celebrated on September 27 every year.

This year’s WTD was celebrated across the world and in Seychelles under the theme ‘Tourism – Linking Cultures’.

Upon stepping into the airport’s arrival lounge, tourists were able to appreciate the sounds and beats of Seychelles’ Creole music with live performance from local musicians Dave Sinon and Reuben Larue.

Also present for the welcoming event were representatives of the Seychelles Tourism Board, comprising Sharon François, Line Mancienne and Isabelle Houareau.

The special welcome at the international airport is an annual event on the STB calendar.
This year, the STB has marked the WTD with a week-long programme of tourism-related activities which ends today with the closing of Senpa’s tourism fair at the Camion Hall.
