These two first division teams had endured contrasting fortunes in their last outings in the Barclays league division one with St Roch scoring goals for fun – a massive 14 in three matches and even winning three crucial points against The Lions.

As for LightStars, they had lost their derby match to Côte d’Or and so had a point to prove.

LightStars were set on the road to victory as Ernesto Doway made it 1-0 in the 12th minute.

LightStars’ irrepressible Malagasy striker Mario Ravo extended his team’s lead to 2-0 in the 33rd minute.

Ten minutes into the second half (55th), Ravo completed his brace to stretch his side’s advantage to 3-0.

Kevin Prosper completed a miserable afternoon for Bel Ombre-based St Roch, scoring LightStars’ fourth goal in the 68th minute for a 4-0 scoreline.

LightStars will now play another first division opponent in the quarterfinal in the shape of The Lions.
