Air Seychelles returns second leased Boeing 767-200 |02 November 2011

The ILF-registered aircraft, Amirantes, left Seychelles for the USA on Monday morning.

It joined the national airline in 2009 and was expected to be returned in 2014.

Last week, the other Boeing 767-200 aircraft, the Isle of Bijoutier, was returned to the ILFC.

The return of both aircraft is in line with Air Seychelles’ new business strategy in right-sizing fleet and streamlining.

The new business strategy will focus on maximising revenue by ensuring appropriate capacity on all routes, flights and adequate use of its fleet.

The current fleet of the national airline is made up of three Boeing 767-300 aircraft.

Meanwhile the first Air Seychelles Boeing aircraft to be painted with the airline’s new livery and logo arrived in Seychelles on Monday evening. It was initially scheduled to arrive on Saturday afternoon but was delayed in Abu Dhabi.
