Football-Tigers division three winners |02 November 2011

The Anse Boileau-based team made sure of promotion by inflicting a first defeat on Au Cap who are in their first season in the league.

Tigers came from a goal down to beat Au Cap 2-1 at Stad Popiler last Friday to bring their points tally to 33 and cannot be caught by any of their opponents. With a match left against Bel Air today at 6pm at Stad Popiler, Tigers are unbeaten in 13 games – 10 wins and three draws.

Au Cap have finished as third division runners-up with 31 points – nine wins, four draws and a defeat – and they still have a chance of winning promotion to the second division provided they win the play-off match against Mont Fleuri who have finished second from bottom in the division two league.

Tigers will replace Mont Buxton who will play third division football next year after finishing at the bottom of the second division league.
