Fête de Gastronomie-Lemuria hosts STA apprentices |05 November 2011
A total of 24 year-one and year-two STA students from Praslin took part in the one-day event celebrated around the world each September.
The students were accompanied by STA head of programme on Praslin Natasha Omblime, head of the apprenticeship scheme Maxime Louise, and STA student coordinator Monique Hoareau.
They reveled from the expertise of executive chef Carafano and his team who demonstrated all kinds of culinary techniques with chocolates. There were also demonstrations of food presentations, culinary preparation techniques, the high standard of practical hygiene to be used, nutritional norms to be followed and motivational talks on the works of chefs.
“Being an executive chef is a noble job, respected and glamorous with international opportunities and very good salaries,” executive chef Carafano told the students.
After the demonstration, all the apprentices and lecturers were treated to a gastronomy delight.
