Volleyball: Men’s SVF Cup-Premium Spikers and Beau Vallon advance to semis |10 November 2011

Premium Spikers took 1 hour 04 minutes to kick Cadets out of the tournament with a 3-0 win, while Beau Vallon needed only 52 minutes to eliminate Anse Royale by the same score.

After winning the first set 25-15, Premium Spikers faced a slight resistance from their opponents who managed to increase their tally in the second and third sets. Being the stronger side, Premium Spikers managed to win the next two sets 25-20 and 25-21 to win the match 3-0.

Beau Vallon, on the other hand, managed to contain their opponents, preventing them from exceeding 18 points. The set scores were 25-18, 25-16 and 25-18.

In the semifinals, Premium Spikers will meet La Digue who eliminated Juniors 3-0 in the quarterfinal, while Beau Vallon will play against Racing Club who beat Neo Boyz 3-2.

Meanwhile in the women’s quarterfinals, defending champions Cascade are to play St Louis Bombers, while Arsu will meet Friends. In the other two quarterfinal matches, Roots Sisters will play La Digue, and Juniors will face Praslin Volleyball Club.

The finals have been scheduled for Saturday November 26.
