Mont Fleuri wildlife club receives plants

Planting a Bwa Merl plant on the school campus just after the hand-over ceremony

Of the 23 plants, three are endemics –one Bwa Merl plant and two Kafe Maron Gran Fey plants – while the other 20 are hibiscus, bison and fler kafe just to name a few.

National Botanical Gardens Foundation’s sales and marketing manager Sharon Télémaque handed over the plants to members of the school’s wildlife club in the presence of the foundation members during a ceremony held at the school.

The hand-over of the plants

She said “this is a generous gesture and is part of the National Botanical Gardens Foundation’s responsibility towards the Mont Fleuri district – home of the Botanical Gardens.”

“We are happy to help the school in its beautification campaign, thus making the school ground greener and more attractive,” she added.

Ms Télémaque noted that the three endemic plants donated will help the students and members of the public to take note of Seychelles’ rich biodiversity and appreciate the environment more by showing interests in its conservation.

After one of its members had thanked the National Botanical Gardens Foundation for the donation, the wildlife club team planted a Bwa Merl plant on the school campus.
