Christmas treat for elderly residents

Ms Mathiot distributing the gifts

The residents of the Plaisance old people’s home were the first to receive their gifts during a small ceremony held recently in the home’s communal area. The gifts were distributed to the residents by the director of the old people’s home, Anne-Marie Mathiot.

Also present at the short ceremony were the home administrators.
The elderly residents proudly displayed their gifts before going to their respective homes to start enjoying them.

On behalf of the management of the Agency for Social Protection, which administers the homes for the elderly, Ms Mathiot wished the residents Merry Christmas.

She said the agency wanted to make this Christmas special for the residents.
“Christmas time is a special occasion and we wanted the residents to feel special too during this festive season,” Ms Mathiot said.

She added the gifts would surely enhance the Christmas spirit and atmosphere among the elderly residents of the homes.

The residents of the homes for the elderly on Praslin and La Digue will receive their gifts this week.
